Conservatories
Probably the oldest type of sun structure. Originally called ‘orangeries’ in England where growing structures closely followed the availability of clear sheet glass. We now interpret these classic designs in a very energy efficient style: • Types of conservatories include Victorian, Edwardian, and Georgian. These are usually differentiated by the floor plan, roof shape and the use of decorative windows such as round tops, etc. • Our approach has been to use large fixed or operable casement windows and doors with operable transom windows above. • Roof glass is very energy efficient and highlights the beautiful timber framing of gable and hip rafters. |
