Probably the oldest type of sun structure. Originally called ‘orangeries’ in England where growing structures closely followed the availability of clear sheet glass. We now interpret these classic designs in a very energy efficient style:
• Types of conservatories include Victorian,
Edwardian, and Georgian. These are usually
differentiated by the floor plan, roof shape and
the use of decorative windows such as round
tops, etc.
• Our approach has been to use large fixed or
operable casement windows and doors with
operable transom windows above.
• Roof glass is very energy efficient and
highlights the beautiful timber framing of gable
and hip rafters.
